There’s a beautiful story told in the book of Luke. Jesus, standing with his disciples across from temple, is watching the rich and the wealthy ceremoniously cast their gain into the offering. Shuffling through the crowd, a non-descript woman catches Jesus’ eye. There’s nothing striking about her appearance, nothing grandiose she has to offer, just a simple coin, the least and most insignificant of coins... offered in faith. Jesus gathers his disciples together to tell them of her faith, she has “given extravagantly, she has given what she couldn’t afford. She has given her all.” In the minds of twelve disciples, standing on a dry + dusty street, beauty was re-defined. It radiated from a life that gave its all.

Do you know someone who has given extravagantly? Someone who has given their all? At the Capital Region Women’s Conference we want to honor two deserving women who have gone above and beyond. Women who have given their all to serve their families, their community or indivduals who wouldn’t have made it if it wasn’t for these special ladies.

On Friday afternoon for two very special women we have designed an afternoon of pampering - haircut, make up, nails, a new outfit + dinner. It’s a simple gesture to honor those ladies for their extravagant giving.

However, we need your help. We are asking that you would take a moment to share the story of someone you feel deserves the you are beautiful experience. Maybe it’s a mom, a sister, a grandmother, a friend, a pastor’s wife, someone who has given their time to love and serve others without complaint. Perhaps they have nursed someone through a life threatening illness. Perhaps they have served tirelessly for years. Perhaps they have used a gift or talent to minister life to other people. They’ve never been recognized, they’ve never looked for a compliment. Now is their time. Take a moment to write out their story. Simply include their name, email + phone number and write a paragraph to describe how they have given extravagantly.
