We love our shoes! Colors, styles, casual and formal. We have shoes for every occasion. Shoes that are comfortable; shoes that fit us. But what if... what if you were to walk in someone else’s shoes? Have you ever wondered what it might have been like to live life in someone else shoes?

When Jesus came to earth, He walked in shoes that other people wouldn’t even approach. He walked in the shoes of the widow, the leper, the outcast, the prostitute, the tax collector, the rich, the poor and the children. By walking in their footsteps, he had compassion for their situation. He always loved, He empathized, He understood their world and made a difference where it mattered most.

As part of the Capital Region Women’s Conference we’re committing to walk in her shoes. This year we’re partnering with the Alpha Center to provide necessities for young mothers who need a helping hand as they try to figure out motherhood with the help of the Alpha Center. For more information on Alpha visit www.alphacare.org

The plan is simple: we’re asking every delegate at this year’s conference to get involved by purchasing or bring gently used items for the In Her Shoes wish list so we can help the Alpha Center minister to more young moms. Bring your items with you to the conference and on Friday evening we’ll be presenting our gift to the Alpha Center. It’s our opportunity to walk in their shoes and get involved with an incredible ministry making a difference in the lives of women here in the Capital Region.
